Celebration for Partnership - Awards at Voyager Leadership Awards
NOW and the Orchardville Society have been working in partnership for over a year now in the delivery of employment and training programmes for people with learning difficulty. This partnership working ensures equality of choice for the client group across Belfast. Programmes in partnership currently include a Belfast Wide Transition Programme for school leavers; Project Unify which is working to ensure a smooth pathway in education attainment is achieved; and Project Able assisting people on the Autistic Spectrum enter the world of employment.
Partnership working takes vision and leadership and both organisations are delighted that the Chief Executives; Maeve Monaghan and Alan Thomson were recognised recently for their leadership excellence. Alan Thomson (Orchardville Society) was awarded the C03 Award for Leading People and Maeve Monaghan the award for Leading on Governance.
NOW were delighted to have their work on Governance recognised at the ceremony. Maeve Monaghan said " This award is much appreciated and comes as a welcome recognition of our Board's work on Governance. We have a very strong Board of Directors who operate under robust systems and procedures to ensure the future of our organisation" Maeve also went on to thank Focus on Governance and in particular the work of Joy Allen for supporting her and NOW's Board to develop their Governance Manual which is held up as a model of good practice int he sector. Leading on from it's work on Governance NOW have successfully won Investors in People and ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditation in the past year.
