The Training Team are delighted to report our recent success at IFEX 2010, where Iain Wilson and Maria Goodall successfully represented NOW at this prestigious event: Iain was awarded a Silver medal and Maria a Bronze. They had to create two dishes and prepare them on the day and present to the judging panel in front of a live audience Congratulations to Iain and Maria for their dedication, hard work and courage in taking part in this event.

Anne Cheevers, NVQ Co-ordinator, stated, ’Success in this event has a huge roll-on effect as potential employers can see their talent and is a recognised ability standard in one of the world’s largest employment sectors with an ever increasing demand for talent and dedication.’

The Culinary Ability Awards are an opportunity for individuals with a disability to cook and present their food at an international level. The event alternates between London, Dublin and Belfast with the most recent being held at IFEX in the Kings Hall in Belfast on 23rd March 2010.
